A short prayer, 3 — Thanksgiving

O Lord, my God, it pleases me to admit that I am unworthy of Your giving, for I know that all I receive is from Your great mercy and grace, and that You give freely. Therefore in whatever You give to me, You are glorified in Your mercy. And, knowing that I am unworthy, I receive always with thanksgiving and joy what you give to me. I pray, Lord have mercy.

Amen.

A short prayer, 2 — When they come

What greater thing is there to do, than to spend all my days contemplating Your goodness? For I long above all else to be in Your presence. When they come for me, on that day I shall know that I will see my Maker soon, and I will rejoice. For they think they are coming to bring about my doom, but rather they come to bring about my joy. How little do they realize what they are doing!

A short prayer, 1 — Silence

There is too much that can be said; my mouth cannot speak. You are an infinite mystery. The more I say, the more that must still be said. Words cannot grasp You. So I will be silent, and sit in awe and silence. I will listen, and not speak.
